Allows you to set a product property which can be hidden on the public product page

Spree Hidden Properties

Simple gem that allows you to set a product property which can be hidden on the public product page. It does the follwing:

  1. Adds a hidden boolean attribute to the spree_product_properties table
  2. Adds an initializer which permits the new :hidden parameter on the model's properties
  3. Using Deface, updates the admin Product Propeties table to include a "Hidden" checkbox
  4. Using Deface, updates the front-facing Product page to not display a hidden property

Installation

  1. Add this extension to your Gemfile with this line:
gem 'spree_hidden_properties', github: 'coneybeare/spree_hidden_properties'
  1. Install the gem using Bundler:
bundle install
  1. Copy & run migrations
bundle exec rails g spree_hidden_properties:install
  1. Restart your server

If your server was running, restart it so that it can find the assets properly.

Testing

First bundle your dependencies, then run rake. rake will default to building the dummy app if it does not exist, then it will run specs. The dummy app can be regenerated by using rake test_app.

bundle
bundle exec rake

When testing your applications integration with this extension you may use it's factories.
Simply add this require statement to your spec_helper:

require 'spree_hidden_properties/factories'
